Printed Circuit Board Supply Chain Solutions: Packaging
While there is nothing sexy about packaging, it too would be true that there is nothing fun about product arriving damaged either. Just like turning on the lights, you expect product to arrive safely and on time just like you expect the lights to come on with the flip of a switch. Let’s not kid ourselves, however, and note that a shipment arriving late and damaged causes a lot of issues. At PCB Solutions, we have gone to great lengths to make sure our products are shipped to high standards. This standard goes back to our efforts of making sure each factory complies with our stringent requirements. As a PCB distributor, we must have quality packaging for products that are as sensitive in nature and that have such a high cost value. During our years of evaluation, we have run into a few printed circuit board suppliers that have shipped us their samples in loosely fitted boxes and missing the straps needed to keep printed wiring boards secure in the shipments.
When we first started out over thirteen years ago, little did we know that we would have custom fabricators on how to ship product in ways that minimized the potential for damage. As a customer ourselves, we require our printed circuit board suppliers to provide us with high quality product…shipped in high quality packaging.
A couple quick notes about how our product is packaged:
- All rigid, flex and rigid flex boards are vacuum sealed
- All PCB shipments have desiccant moisture absorbers
- All boxes have 4, durable tightening straps
- All boxes are heavy duty, industrial grade packaging material
- All are labeled with the following:
- Customer Part Number
- Quantity in Box
- Date Code of Fabrication
This is not the kind of material you are going to sit down and talk about with the kids at dinner, however, it is just one of the details we at PCB Solutions think about to ensure your product is shipped correctly and without the chance of being damaged.
